Privacy policy

Transparency about personal data, purposes, and your rights.

Last updated: April 7, 2026

1. Who we are

Geek Calendar (“we”, “us”) is a digital platform for discovering and promoting geek events. This policy explains how we process personal data when you use the website and related services.

For privacy questions, contact contato@geekcalendar.com.br.

2. Data we may collect

We may collect: (a) account data (e.g. name, email) when you register or sign in with a social provider; (b) information you submit voluntarily (suggestions, event forms, support messages); (c) technical data such as IP address, device type, browser, pages viewed, and timestamps — including via cookies or similar technologies where applicable.

Public content shown on the site (events, submitted copy) may be processed to operate and display the service.

3. Purposes and legal bases

We use data to: provide the service (account, favorites, likes, forms); improve security and performance; send important notices; comply with law; and, where allowed, measure aggregated usage to improve the product.

Legal bases may include contract, legitimate interests (e.g. security and aggregate analytics, balanced against your rights), consent where required (e.g. non-essential cookies, if used), and legal obligation.

4. Sharing

We may share data with vendors that help us run the platform (hosting, transactional email, analytics), under appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your personal data.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the service.

5. Retention

We keep data as long as needed for the purposes above, dispute resolution, and legal requirements, considering the nature of the data, risk, and regulatory needs.

6. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

Contact contato@geekcalendar.com.br. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No system is perfectly secure; use a strong password and protect your credentials.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use after material changes may indicate you acknowledge the updates.
